FDP on Writing Quality Research Papers in the Field of Social Sciences Using SPSS & AMOS
2nd to 7th July, 2019
NDIM organized a week long FDP on “Writing Quality Research papers in the field of Social Sciences using SPSS and AMOS” from 2 July to 7 July, 2019 at the campus.
The FDP was initiated and coordinated by our faculty members, Dr. Shweta Goel, Associate Professor, Dr.
Rakhi Chawla, Associate Professor and Mr. Sunder, Head Librarian, NDIM.
The FDP was successfully attended by the research scholars from reputed universities like DU, IGNOU, AMU, Jamia Milia Islamia University, Rama University and academicians from esteemed institutions/ colleges like Jesus & Marry College, DU, Amity University, Manav Rachna University, IITM affiliated with IPU.
Most of the participants came with their research data and related queries which got solved in this programme. There was proper arrangement of morning & evening high tea and lunch on all the days. The FDP took place in
computer lab equipped with computers having SPSS and AMOS softwares.
The first day marked the commencement of the FDP in which after the inaugural session, the expert Dr. Pushpender Kumar, Assistant Professor, Kirorimal College, Delhi University delivered session on basics of research, research design, hypotheses formulation, measurement scales, sampling design and reliability & validity.
The second day of the FDP involved more rigorous session on questionnaire designing, sampling design, scales and constructs well explained by Dr. Pushpender Kumar. The expert delivered valuable insights and practical session on SPSS in his lecture.
On third day of FDP, Dr. Rahul Pratap Singh Kaurav, from Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior, experienced in higher education within core domains of Marketing, Tourism, and Statistical Software Packages covered Hypothesis Testing: Statistical significance, Tests of significance, One-Sample tests and Two-Independent Samples test, ANOVA, MANOVA etc with practical session on SPSS. He also explained ‘How to Write Quality Research Papers for Scopus Indexed Journals”. All the queries of participants were efficiently answered by Dr.
The last two days of FDP were taken by Dr. H. K. Dangi, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics who has earlier worked with FMS, Delhi University. In his sessions Dr. Dangi painstakingly covered using the AMOS software for Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Structural Equation Modelling, Path Analysis and boot-strapping technique.
The FDP came to an end with a valedictory speech delivered by Mr, Ankur Budhiraja, Assistant Professor, NDIM and certificate distribution to all the participants. Towards the end Dr. Niraj RBL Saxena, Associate Professor, NDIM felicitated the expert by extending a token of thanks and appreciation. The feedback of participants was satisfying and they shown interest to attend such programmes in NDIM in future.
